Using the WS FTP
The left half of the WS-FTP LE window displays local (your hard disk) information and the right half of
the window displays remote information. In each half of the WS-FTP LE window there are two list boxes.
The upper box lists directories while the lower box lists files. Just to the right of the two list boxes
is a column of buttons.
These are the ChgDir button to change directories, MkDir button to create a directory, View button to
view a file in text format, Exec button to execute a file, Rename button to rename a file, Delete button
to delete a file, Refresh button to refresh the screen, and DirInfo button to display the files and
directories in Unix format.
The two arrow buttons that appear between the local window and the remote window are used to send (from
local to remote) and get (from remote to local) files.
To transfer a file from the remote side to the local side, click once on the file to highlight it and then
click on the left arrow button.
To transfer a file from the local machine to the remote machine, click once on the file name to
highlight it and then click on the right arrow button.
Note: If you don’t want to use the arrow keys, simply double-click on the name of the file you would
like to transfer.
To transfer multiple files, press and hold down the Shift key, then click on the files you would like to
transfer. Once you have highlighted the files, click on the appropriate arrow key to complete the
transfer.
